Malaysia travel

Post by tradengr » Mon, 26 Sep 2011 11:10 pm

I'm moving to Singapore next week and I'm looking forward to traveling regionally for fun.

Does anyone have any tips for Malaysia?
I like beaches, golf, and simply getting around and experiencing new people, place, and events.

I hope you have done the requisite research online - Lonely Plant/ Wikitravel et al.

You can also check out this site - http://www.tourism.gov.my/ (if you haven't already). It helped me plan my trip when I went.

As for your love for beaches & golf - you can consider Bintan as an option. Its a pretty island with a couple of golf retreats.

oh and.. Welcome to Singapore.

Welcome to Singapore. :) You could check out Penang, they're known for their good food. If you're looking for a beach vacation, Redang and Langkawi are pretty good options. You could either take a coach up or a short flight to these places.

If you like beach, Tioman Island is a good place to go too.
