Maid in Batam

Post by fatmouse76 » Sun, 18 Sep 2011 9:22 pm

If I apply for an IPA for a maid who is supposed to be in Indonesia but she left Singapore to go to Batam, how do I bring her in, from Singapore ?

Also I have another helper currently in Jakarta, but after a successful application and once I have an IPA for her , what do I do, I have heard about the Fisical Exit Permit but I know nothing about it.

Hope to hear some advise here.

Did you do all these by yourself ? Or through agency ??

I have rarely seen a more confused post!
The last time I checked, Batam belonged to Indonesia and somebody who is there could not be brought in from Singapore.

Haaha, well lets say that instead of maid going back to hometown in Surabaya, the maid tells me " mem, i go batam you apply for me WP, then I come Singapore".

This makes me confused. :???: Then I suddenly remember an Agent who previously told me that when their maids fail the Entry test for the 3rd time, they are sent to Batam, and then they come back to Singapore.

Now the maid that I am looking to employ is being sent home directly by the employer, and I have been googling ways to employ her directly, Its the Fiskal Exit per mit that I am all lost about.

It's not becoming any clearer at all ...

What do you actually want? Employ a maid who is currently in Indonesia, or ýou have a maid and ask about her trip home, or what?

The Fiscal Fee is something all Indonesian residents have to pay to the authorities to be allowed to leave the country.
In theory, it's a pre-payment for income tax due, but in reality nobody ever managed to set it off from later tax payments, so it's just another payment to corrupt officials.

Hi.

since January 2011, fiscal tax is no longer applied to Indonesians travelling overseas.

Hope this helps!

For the sake of completeness, could you post a link or source? This is so everyone viewing this can see a verifiable source.

Sorry for not posting any link beforehand. I happen to be familiar with the issue since I am Indonesian. Yet when I tried to find a reliable online source, I couldn't find any. Again, hope this helps for future reference.
