Looking for large historical maps / charts of Singapore!

Post by ZIP » Sat, 17 Sep 2011 9:19 pm

I am an NUS student from Europe and I would like to bring the following 2 maps / charts of Singapore to my home country (Holland):

1. Singapore and its Dependencies 1911
2. Singapore 1:50,000 Topographical Map July 2011

They are both under this link: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-V...1_2011_80s.jpg
This topic describes the maps: http://otterman.wordpress.com/2011/0...graphical-map/

I have called the phone number 64883199 of the map store in Singapore (as given at the above mentioned site) but they don't pick up (tried this over 5 times). I tried to find this "map store" online, but I couldn't find it.

Could somebody help me?! I just want to buy a large version (like > 1 meter wide) of these 2 maps.

Best regards,
ZIP

Do you know what sizes the maps are?

If too small you could look into making HD scans of them and getting enlargements printed in a print shop.

p.s. Agree with Technoviking's advice above

Following your advice, I have called and finally contacted the mapping unit. I visited the "store" on Friday, the maps will probably be available but it does take some more bureaucratic steps to get them....Will keep you updated (but you will have to wait a while for my next reply I guess ;))
