Gas cookstops or Electric cookstops?

Post by Carlyn.Faith » Thu, 15 Sep 2011 6:42 pm

I’m planning to purchase gas cooktops and was wondering how much Btu should Gas cooktops have? And which of the two cookstops (Gas cookstops and Electric cookstops) works best at home? :D

You want to buy a hob/range for your home. Yes?

And want to know if gas or electric is better. Yes?

I personally like gas tops. But where we are now, it's difficult to cook with the doors open as the damn flame isn't consistent.

What's BTU? I know i have 4 tops: Small pan, Smaller pan, Big Pot, Biggest Pot.

I haven't mastered electric tops as I am of the old kind, cooking according to the size of the flame!

British Thermal Unit. A non-SI unit for energy.

1 BTU = 1055 joules.

Of course a lot of that will depend on the gas supply as well and not necessarily the height of the flame. Check out the BTU (heat) from a Bunsen burner.
