Hospitality Jobs in Singapore

Post by Shudder » Tue, 13 Sep 2011 9:43 am

Hi there, I'm new to these boards and will be relocating to Singapore very soon.

I was just wondering how difficult it is to get entry level positions there as I haven't had a whole lot of experience with hospitality and just graduated with a diploma for it.

any help would be great

thanks!

It should be as difficult for any entry-level position in any industry for any foreigner relocating to Singapore.

Please search the forums for these using our excellent search function as countless entry-level applicants already asked your question.

Honestly its not difficult to get an entry level job in the hospitality sector. I think hospitality is probably the sector that is the easiest to get into because the local Singaporeans don't really want these jobs. As a result the hotels, resorts, spas etc are constantly in a hiring crunch.

The catch is that you will be competing with people from less developed countries (e.g. Indonesia, Philippines, China, Burma) who are prepared to accept lower wages. So you may have to reduce your wage expectations.
