Thanks a mil for ur reply.

According to what u've said, my salary need to be able to support him financially,
does it mean that my salary have to be higher than him?
if so, then i guess i do not qualify=(

on another note, i have heard that we can seek help from our MP. But im
not sure if i should seek help before we apply or should we try our luck 1st
then if we got rejected, we can then ask for help from our MP? Because i
heard that if we got rejected, we need to wait for 2 years before we can
apply again. i really want to buy a flat with my husband and set up a
family by next year=(

Sorry if i sounded ignorant. Thanks!!

In general I think the salary of the sponsor should be greater than 2500-2800 I think. Dont know the exact figure.

My suggestion, first application should be good and strong. So, wait for 1.5-2 years from marriage and then try?

Decision is left to you. Good Luck !

Doesn't mean to discourage you, but maybe you should patiently wait. My application has been pending for 10 months.

I dont think you are allowed to drive your Malaysian car here bro.. You will have to convert your Malaysian driving licence to a Sporean one. Quite simple just pass the basic theory & you should be good to go.

As far as I know, it is not allowed for PRs to drive a foreign car in Singapore under any circumstances.

Technically, no, as I was driving my uncle's malaysian registered car, and was stopped, but, as the 'registered owner' was in the car, we were warned of insurance issues. not even my Singapore DL details were taken down

And if you are planning to drive a MY registered car INTO SG, No way .. not done

I know a few Singaporeans, married Malaysians, living in JB, who are working in Singapore, had to buy Singapore car for them to commute to Singapore daily .. .

You can drive with your malaysian license for upto 6 months, from date of arrival, but .. since you are PR, you are beyond that

As for if you will get away with Basic, the TP only can decide. Lately they have been insisting on all foreign licenses to go for Basic Theory + Driving ..

Well I was right then!

Driving licence for PR must be converted asap, you cannot drive on foreign licence. Singaporeans and Permanent Residents

http://driving-in-singapore.spf.gov.sg/ ... ersion.htm

Singaporeans and Permanent Residents may only drive in Singapore with a Singapore licence. They have to seek conversion of their foreign driving licence upon returning to Singapore and upon obtaining PR status respectively.

Singaporeans and Permanent Residents may convert a foreign driving licence if they can show proof that they have reason to be staying in a foreign country for a period of 1 year or more due to study or work, and have a total stay of 6 months within the one year period.
