Stereotype

http://toolsforchangingtheworld.com/whi ... ereotypes/

"In some ways, it all comes down to reminding people of their individuality – that they are more than representatives of some typecast group.

And if we help people counter the effects of stereotype threat, they’ll be less likely to live up to those stereotypes… which might eventually help erase some of them. I’d be happier in a world with fewer harmful stereotypes. I think you would, too."

Found this helpful blog. Good things are meant to be shared. One of my daughter is conscious of how she is different from her new found friends e.g. we don't wear shoes around the house. I even kenna scolding from her for packing her healthy lunches and she screamed at me "for once can we have something unhealthy?" so to be the same as her classmates! Which was unfounded as I allow a fair amount of candy and desserts.
