Hi all!

Can you recommend a gym around the Farrer Park Area?

Thanks!

sign up at civil services club, Tessensohn road, or take a walk to the Jalan Besar Stadium Gym :)

If you want cheaper options...

Salazar: free pass ? how does that work ?? ;)

But struggling to find out how social member at the CSC works. What does it allow you to do? Do you have access to the facilities? At a cost?

I am not a PR (moving to SG soon) so can't get a full membership but am trying to understand what I would be allowed to use. I am especially interested in access to the pool.

Thanks!

Hi,

I had tried that but the membership section is unclear. It just says you have to be well dressed etc, not what the social pass entitles you to.

This is what I had read on the site and didn't find what I needed so came on here to see if anyone had any experience with it. Social is 60 dollars a year whereas normal membership is 300 so something must be excluded from the social one.

Eligibility

Limited number of Social Membership is open to those (21 years and above) who are not eligible for club membership.

Social Membership is subject to approval by the Club and the Club reserves the right to refuse an application for membership renewal without assigning any reason thereof or to suspend a member whose behaviour is considered unbecoming whilst in the Club's premises.

Social Members must be properly attired when they are in the clubhouse premises and to observe the rules and regulations of the Club. Social Members must produce their membership card with a valid stamp to use the facilities. In particular, a valid membership card is a requirement to access the Jackpot Room, to make jackpot claims and to play mahjong.

Subscriptions

Membership is non-transferable and is valid for one month only, and shall be issued upon approval of membership and payment of a monthly subscription of $5 and $1 administrative fee. Renewal of membership shall be on a monthly basis. Lost cards will be replaced at $6 per card.

To submit your membership application

First time applicants are required to submit their membership application form together with their NRIC at the front office of our clubhouses. Monthly renewal stamps can be purchased from the Tessensohn Clubhouse Front Office from 9.30am to 9.00pm.Thereafter, the stamps are available at the Jackpot Room. For Changi and Bukit Batok Clubhouses, the stamps can be purchased from the Jackpot Room.

There is a public pool at Jalan Besar stadium. Cost is negligable. There is also another pool at Farrer Park Sports field although I don't know how that one works. Apparently there is also a gym at City Square Mall - but I may be mistaken.
