Phuket for X'mas

Post by glamoure_rouge81 » Wed, 07 Sep 2011 2:27 pm

Hello Peeps,
Anyone game for a trip down to Phuket to celebrate X'mas this year? I've always stayed in Sg for celebrations so thought something different wud be nice this year.

Thr r flights from Tiger Airways n prices r pretty reasonable. Dont know if thr'll be an increase once X'mas draws closer.

I'm looking at 22nd December 2011 ( AM flight) and to return on 26/27th December 2011 (PM Flight back)

PM me if interested. Cheers!

Hey I'm going to Phuket about that time too :) I've booked tickets with my friend way long ago (with AirAsia) and don't rmb exactly/too lazy to check when we'll fly, but for sure 23-25 we'll be there (or longer than that, I can rmb). Anw, we haven't booked hotel or chosen a place to stay yet.

I went to Phuket for New Year once and didn't enjoy it that much. It was full of miserable European families.............and don't get me wrong, I'm from Europe too, but there was something weird about them - you'd think they'd be happy that they were away for Christmas but apparently not

Anyway, the whole gala dinner thing is a complete rip-off, the price of staying in a mid-range hotel for the night for some of them and often don't include any alcohol in that vastly inflated price. One family I spoke to refused to pay it and got away with it, so perhaps upon booking you could do the same.......either that or stay in a place that's cheap (they don't usually do gala dinners so you can go and eat somewhere nice instead).

Actually, perhaps that's why the European families looked miserable - they'd just done a currency conversion on their 'Gala' dinner price :D

Hi deGrenoble,
Not sure about glamour but I'm confirmed will go with my friend, we'll fly out on 22nd and back on 27th. We may stay in Kata as my friend doesn't like the too crowded Patong very much.
if ur schedule overlaps our, we can plan some activities together :)
