Advice on looking for common rooms

Post by alison_eve » Mon, 05 Sep 2011 2:36 pm

Dear All,

Myself and my friend are finding it hard to locate two common rooms in a unit to rent together (we can't afford to rent a two bed alone).

We have signed up to Craigslist, Gumtree, easyroomate, can anyone give us any advice to other avenues we can try? Going through an agent and paying for adverts are things we will consider in the next few weeks, for our budget if we were looking separately we would find something fast but looking together is proving to be quite a challenge!

Please send me a message if you can offer any advice to help us in our search!

Thanks X

Can you rent a full unit and try to let out the other rooms? It is not likely that 2 rooms come up in the same apart at the same time? Your choice...

I agree that RentDirect.sg is a good website for common rooms that offers DIY.

I would not even bother with engaging an agent because they are a lot of trouble and are likely to screw you (see the other threads in this forum for proof)

I visited rentdirect.sg but their website is not working. Do you know of any other way to rent common room without paying agent fees? Thanks.

where to start (a simple search ...)

this post ... http://forum.singaporeexpats.com/ftopic75268.html

if you're a member of www.internations.org then there are some options that come available there too.
