Citizenship application -advice
Guys - here i am with the same question after a year.
I have thoughts about applying for citizenship again (alone) & not with my family.
I have a feeling, my ethnicity and place (where i come from) and not applying as family will harm my case...
Is it worth applying now (with current climate) or just don't apply now

Very high level of information and so cant even know what is your situation. Also just to add on, applying as family has more weightage i feel personally..azp123 wrote:Guys - here i am with the same question after a year.

Not quite sure why you would want to apply for citizenship by yourself. Kinda of strange, don't you think? Almost sounds like you plan on being single.

SOME PEOPLE TRY TO TURN BACK THEIR ODOMETERS. NOT ME. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHY I LOOK THIS WAY. I'VE TRAVELED A LONG WAY, AND SOME OF THE ROADS WEREN'T PAVED. ~ Will Rogers
Why don't you just state what it is that you're trying to achieve here, rather than getting people to participate in a guessing game?azp123 wrote:Thanks SF. SMS, totally agree, and that is why i think this will work against my application (though i have a reason for that - though they are not to abuse the system)
The first thing ICA are going to think, is the same as us here. I.e. what is he up to?

Apply for SG citizenship and keep OCI (overseas citizenship of india).azp123 wrote: I have thoughts about applying for citizenship again (alone) & not with my family.
It will give you the same rights as an Indian citizen without having the passport.
If you are not applying for SG citizenship for your family because you do not want any of your subsequent generation to do NS then I guess you know why ICA will not give you the singapore citizenship.
Frankly if you want Singapore citizenship then apply as a family and keep an OCI.
If you ever want to return back home then you will have the same rights as an Indian in the future (Except for being able to vote and own agricultural property, which I am sure you can still do in other ways).
