I understand that we can only get broadcasts of the RWC 2011 on ESPN/mioTV. I am on Starhub, so pooh!! I also found out that to subscribe to mioTv I need a SingTel phone line at home. Double pooh.
Anyone has any idea how I can get any games "live" via the Internet?

BBC have a 1hr highlights of it (Eng vs the dirty pikeys) on right now.
You can view down a VPN/Proxy.
Use the search button if you need guidance on the latter.

Just get Mio - it'll cost you about $50 per month for all the sports channels. Phone line bills every quarter and is about $30.

Its on ITV, so all you need is a VPN (use the search button (under the profile link, top right) to find a resolved and yet ongoing discussion about that).

Que!?
I thought this is for recorded stuff and not live TV?
No. You can watch programmes live as well as later.
how do we watch the live tv for rugby world cup?
1) Have a VPN, that makes your PC look like it is in the UK (the various TV channels only allow people in the UK to watch them)
refer: http://forum.singaporeexpats.com/ftopic74973-0.html
2) Go to the ITV Player and switch it on
refer: http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/

Set it up and give it a trial run before the weekend. I watched an episode of Red or Black last night (to understand what all the fuss is about). So I reckon I'm set to go.
The VPN I quote in the opener of that linked thread has only let me down once, and that was during the height of the Egypt revolution when for what ever reason my ip address was redirecting via the US and not the UK. If this kind of thing happens again during the rugby I'll switch to my-private-network.co.uk where I can subscribe for just a month for £5.

Hi JR8, i've followed your instructions and whatever video on ITVPlayer i click on a message shows up saying "Sorry this video is only available in the UK"??? I installed and launched the hotspot shield, it tells me i'm connected and the session is active etc, i launch the ITV player and no matter which channel i click on the same message appears! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Damn, the NZ/Tonga match just finished....
