Extending a SVP

My understanding is; To apply for extension to a SVP, a citizen is required to sponsor, and accompany you to apply in person at ICA.

Does this have to be the same citizen which acted as sponsor for the original SVP?

If I am not wrong, it can be any Singapore Citizen /SPR and need not be the same person who applied for the SVP for you.

As I know...if u wanted to extend for another 30days u don't need a local sponsor(SCitizen/SPR)
Unless u wanted to extend till max(89days) then u will need a local sponsor
If u apply online...don't think u need the sponsor to come down to apply for extension..

not true. You need a sponsor for both offline/online extention of SVP. For online - you need singpass of the sponsor. For offline/you need the sponsor's IC and his/her presence.
