Bills: electricity, water, internet etc..

Post by LiamP123 » Tue, 23 Aug 2011 5:33 am

Hi,

I'm moving to Singapore in November, I'm just trying to roughly work out what the living costs are like.

I was thinking of renting a condo. Can anyone tell me roughly how much I'd expect to pay for electricity, water, internet, tv etc?

Any input would be great!!

Cheers guys!

Liam

Use the search function, you'll find lots of threads that discuss these costs ad nauseum. Don't expect a consensus though

Your bill will be roughly $69.73.
Of course if you take showers or switch on the light, it will be higher, possibly much higher.

OK, that was laugh out loud hilarious! :) Thanks beppi!

Seriously though--your electricity alone could be well over $500 if you use your air con (mine was closer to $1000 in the early days when we couldn't live without AC!).

We pay around S$100/month for PUB (no aircon usage!), S$20 for Internet, no TV. That's the other end of what is possible (yes, we do take showers and switch on the light occasionally).

Canada. :) My poor Canadian husband has melted since we've been here, shed about 25 pounds. Since he's a stay at home dad he sets the temperature--now that we've been here awhile we no longer us the AC at all. It's such a huge change from 4.5 years ago.
