How does one go about renting a place in SG? If we visit SG a few months prior to moving, does this allow us to secure a place in good time? Can we sign a lease months before the lease commences? Or is this typically a process that happens within days? Also, what form of payment is generally required? I.e. First and last month's rent? Many thanks!

Generally this depends if the landlord is agreeable to the waiting period as they receive no rent during this period and Yes, lease period can happen within a few days. Payment wise, you would have to put a 1 mth security deposit which you will get back at the end of the leas and a 1st mth rental.
