Personal loan for expat?

Post by dubplate » Mon, 08 Aug 2011 1:45 pm

Hello,

I am a expat here, been in singapore just over 6months, get paid reasonsably well.

I am keen for some advice on getting a personal loan, id like to get 50k to put towards my MBA.

all the banks seem to have different loans for expats - anyone found a decent loan from a bank here that;

is available to expats?
has a ok interest rate?
will allow you to borrow 50k +

thanks

Well, salary alone, will still attract premium interest rates, but if you hold clear title to australian properties, then you should be able to cobble up something using them or one of them as collateral, if necessary. I would think someone like ANZ might be worth talking to. Maybe some of other other regulars will have more first hand experience of using foreign properties as collateral against loans here and the expected rates for same.

no, none of them are free title - all of them are under a mortgage - but the mortgages aren't geared very high.

I have checked DBS - they only offer 15k to expats.

citibank just seems confusing, but I will go in there and check it out
