The citizens voted for these people to express their will.

All power to them.
One party system looks better all the time.

Morons that vote people in to shoot them in the foot, destroy their financial security.

Thanks, but no thanks to the Tea Party.

That's why S&P downgraded them.

p.s. Still, it's all the GOPs fault so that's ok lol
You know what? I actually empathize with the GOP this time. I mean, they have to put up with those freshmen tea partiers. I felt sorry for John Boehner.
Ya I know. Those wacky tea partiers trying to get the US gov to spend within their means. What the heck is wrong with those not jobs? Don’t they know that Uncle Sam can print all the money that he wants?
You do know that both parties agreed that spending must be cut already, right? They just couldn't agree where to cut it...and raise tax rates for the rich.

Its transparent when times are good, but no longer.

Right now you have the will of the people, and the politicians simply off doing their own thing. It cannot go on for ever like this.
Saw several news pieces that basically say majority of Americans found politicians behavior during the debates pathetic and childish.

It was rather appalling how little sensible discussion actually occurred over this. So much finger pointing and clouding the issues and so little actual work. SMH.

And they think the way to get the government to live within its means is to prevent any additional revenue whatsoever. That is what is wrong with those nutjobs.

If anything is nuts I'd have thought increasing lending to a bankrupt with no plans how to pay any of it back must rate pretty high.

I feel very sad about this. Surely the Americans who always come across as respectful and polite don't deserve the downgrade.

Try going to a bank and borrowing money if you were in the same deficit as the US. They'd laugh at you.

I think it was about time the US got downgraded. They surely cannot continue just printing money without a serious timeline and proper plan as to how they are going to get out of the sh*t that their in. I'm surprised it took as long as it did before one of the ratings agencies downgraded. Now I see the US is going to investigate their methods and more than likely blackmail them into reversing their decision somehow.

Not a very good showing and hardly allows the agency to stay neutral when they have threats about investigations hanging over their heads.

I have to say this (and sorry to the few americans on this site) but it was about time someone brought your government down a peg or 2.
Don't p*ss me off! I am running out of places to hide the bodies.

Yeah, I agree, and they will probably take the PIIGS & the UK down as well. All deserving it.

^^^^ +1

I am astounded how all of these countries allowed this to happen and the lack of accountability.

The people who collectively got these countries into this mess have committed such an abuse that has such wide reaching effects globally and yet not even a handful will have to answer for it.

You know how in some stories, you have this villain wanting to destroy the world? And is turns out, all he wants is what's good for the world and thinks the best way to achieve that is to build from scratch?

It's starting to become a really attractive prospect now.

He might have been trolling CNN, of course.
