Chatsworth School and where to live

Post by Niccibic » Wed, 03 Aug 2011 8:10 pm

Hi everyone. We are moving to Singapore shortly and looks like we have shortlisted Chatsworth school for our 3 kids, 7, 9, 11, at time of arrival. To keep the kids together it looks like we will need to send them to the Orchard campus. Where are other parents living whose kids go to this school? We really like the East Coast area. One Amber condo looks good if anyone has any opinions. How long will it take me to get the kids from say One Amber to Orchard Road, and secondly Costa Rhu.

gothere.sg is a good website to check out how long it'll take to travel from one place to another using various forms of transport.

onemap.sg is the govt operated mapping website. it has the bus services at bus stops within it...

FYI, sometimes, google maps give different estimates; sometimes, different routes altogether. I usually use the more conservative time estimate for the same route.

You could try contacting the head of the Parents' Association and ask them for suggestions. Google maps and other internet tools are great for the hard facts, but you might get some added insight by speaking with someone directly. You may find out that one comparable condo has a lot more school mates in it than another, for instance. You can also go and speak to the bus office, they'll have proper commute times. Good luck.

Thanks for PM Lukeduke. Cant Pm at moment as I dont have enough messages. There is a Chatsworth school on the east Coast but only to Year 6 which would mean I would have to move my kids after 1 year.. Think we have decided to live on the East Coast and I will take them on the bus each morning and collect them in the afternoon. We are going to look and One World International School as well which is by the airport on the East Coast. One World is up to Year 7 at the moment and are continually adding year groups each August.(Supposedly) javascript:emoticon('')
