I am trying to lose some weight. So I drink protein shakes twice a day and have 1 proper meal. Exercise for 30mins too.

The thing is , I am afraid that there might nt be enough stuff such as vitamins , calciums and etc for my body. What actually do we need and what should I buy???

Hi, you will need to ensure u have nutrients that the body is not able to make itself. Thus it will be good for u to eat multivitamins to ensure u get all kinds of nutrients. I've one product, which is a natural supplement that contains more den 100 nutrients in it. It's natural, meaning safe to consume in large amount because it is actualli a kind of seaweed that in very high in nutritional value and has lots of health benefits which is better den vitamins pills. Email me at joy31@singnet.com.sg if interested.

spirulina not completely safe?

Post by joyfulgal » Wed, 24 Nov 2004 2:42 am

hi there, regarding the reports i dun deny. however, this company product has been around for 9 yrs and the product also has achieved ISO 9001:2000, numerous certification like HSA of singapore, FDA of USA, JHFA of japan, golden awards of excellent food in taiwan. All these achievement are for real and furthermore the product has insurance coverage of $4 million and may i ask u which insurance company is so stupid to dare to cover such insurance for the product if they know the product is unsafe for consumption? if that's the case they will compensate the consumers like hell. Therefore, the company's spirulina is certainly safe to consume.

Taking Nutritional Supplements or mulitivatimins must choose those have GMP Pharmaceutical Grade Manfacturing and USP Guidelines for Potency ,Uniformity ,Dissolution/Disintegration .

Remember, Poorly Manufactured, Incomplete and Unbalanced Nutritional Products are waste of money and do little to promote better health to consumers.

Well, as what joyfulgal has posted regarding the nutrients we need, I am also taking Spirulina.

Spirulina is also good for those who is on diet to shed off excess fat as it provides almost all nutrients without any extra calories which also does not make one feel fatigue.

The one I took is from Japan. It's Japan number one Spirulina.

A general multi-vitamin like Centrum would normally suffice.

Which protein drink are you taking? Some protein drinks are considered meal replacements and normally have added vitamins/minerals.

By the way, why are you eating only one meal a day? If you're trying to lose weight, it's better to eat than drink your calories.

Reason being is, thermic effect of food (TEF). TEF is the amount of calories that it takes your body to digest, absorb, and metabolize your ingested food intake. This makes up about 5 to 15% of your total daily calorie expenditure.

Since the metabolic rate is elevated via this mechanism 10 to 15% for one to four hours after a meal, the more meals you eat per day, the faster your metabolic rate will be.

It's far better to keep the metabolism high than to allow the metabolism to slow down by eating infrequently. Therefore, consume smaller and more frequent whole food meals.

All the best. :D
