cherrypassion wrote:Hey Guys,
So I am planning my second round of Cosmetic Surgery... But this time I'm scared because my 1st time was done all under GA. So I never felt anything.
Now the doctors I spoke with said they do all the operations I need under LA. Now I'm scared... and I have a feeling that I will be freaked out!!
I'm planning to do:
Rhino [nose reduction: very slight]
Chin Implant
Buccal Fat Removal
Lipo
Bleph
...... Did anyone do the above operations under LA?
And
how badly did it hurt?
Also... I have another Question..
Did anyone do a
Lateral outer eye Corner Cut/Slit? [to make eyes abit wider]. Please let me know if it is a good procedure.. and if it's worth it.
Oh... Sorry... Yet another Q...
Is it normal for a PS Doctor to
charge more for Silicone BA.. than Saline Implants? I always thought Saline was less expensive! (Can someone shed some light on this issue as well please!)
Thanks again everyone!

Hi,
to answer your questions (to the best of what I know anyway)
1. Sedation
There are 3 common types of sedation - GA , LA and LA + twilight/sedatives
so GA is GA , it means your whole body is anaesthesized. They need to monitor your breathing . An anaesthologist ( another DOCTOR is present).
LA means its localized. You'd be awake, but other than the initial jabs to the area they are operating, you will not feel anything.
LA + twilight means - they put you to sleep/you'd feel drowsy during op.
Some doctors give Vicodin or some other sedative ( to calm you down or make you drowsy ) when you do an op under LA.
I had LA without anything once for my browlift. I was very anxious. The next time I insisted on a vicodin tab. It made me relaxed - basically they could have cut my arms off and I would be smiling even though I was fully conscious.
I've done all the procedures you have mentioned except lipo under LA and it was fine. but I dont know anything about liposuction under LA. is it going to be major or a small area?
Saline/Silicone implants:
Yes, its standard for the price diff because saline/silicone implants difference in cost. Silicone implants cost more. Whatever implants you choose, make sure the doctor tell you it is US FDA approved. Like Allergan implants. some doctors use non-FDA approved implants to save cost - this is one area where it is non-negotiable.
Lateral Canthoplasty:
It makes your eyes "longer" and enhances the shape . How effective it is depends on your eyes . Look in the mirror at the outer corner of your eyes. Is the lower lid a bit shorter than the upper?
