Ozzie, it's just like Singaporean's being noted for kiasuism. Not all are. In fact, not many are kiasu, but enough are that it sticks out like a sore thumb. So, the population, because of the actions of some, get tarred with the same brush.

Trolls on forums are much the same. If it generally walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and swims like a duck, it's pretty good odds that it's a duck or troll. that, or a damned good masquerade. I'm afraid you gave yourself a bad case of trollism months ago when you ventured onto the forum the first time with your old nick. Now you tend to be a target. What to do?

As long as you keep taking the bait, people will keep feeding it to you! Ignore them and they'll (eventually) take you seriously. Unfortunately you've done a lot of damage to your online persona already, it will take some time to recover.

Apparently they have running water there too, who knew?

Although they still watch black and white TVs (because that's the colour of sheep so you don't need colour to watch videos of them)
