WE WANT FRIENDS!
Hello everyone!
I'm Lindsay - girls name but I'm a guy. 31 and an ex-cop from Scotland. I'm moving to Singapore in August this year with my partner Nat (girls name and she is a girl) who is 27 and Australian.
We would like some friends please.
Not rich ones though. ..We'll be moving on a modest budget as I'm leaving the very secure job of being a Police Constable to jump into a new world of TV Development Writing. Nat is going to be looking for some charity work whilst she starts up her wine importing venture so Ideally, we'd like to have poor friends who don't spend my monthly wage in one night in a bar (we really would like friends who know where to get cheap drink!) We will be taking loads of small trips all over Asia though and it'd be great to do this with other cool people and after work, meet up for dinner, go for a jog or do whatever friends do in Singapore.
Without blowing smoke up our backsides - we are genuinely bloody lovely people and really likeable. Oh, and if anyone can give any tips or advice on where to stay and what we should be looking at in renting that'd be greatly appreciated.
Please be our friend.

I'd rather live and regret what I have done than have to live and regret doing nothing at all.
Hi L & N,
I'm a 30 year old Aussie gal here for a short time - until mid October. I'll be on holidays in America at the beginning of August, but back around 15 August. Don't know many people here and would love to meet some new ones, so let me know when you are arriving, would be great to meet you.
You can email me at lyndalkearney80@gmail.com or PM me (apparently that's what the cool kids are doing) on this forum.
Lyndal.

your story is uncannily familiar!
We (wife and almost 2 year-old) just finished with our initiation into inflated prices on anything enjoyable. After 1 month in a temp apartment smack dab in the middle of everything, we decided on the east coast. Near the beach, and people actually scoot aside on the sidewalks when they see me pushing the stroller.
Here's a twist. my wife works and i stay at home with the kid (ex/sabatical bmw tech), so my days are basically spent wandering around.
get in touch when you arrive, decent people who are weary of paying more than 6 dollars for a pint of anything are hard to come by so far.

Hello :)
Hi,
So I have just arrived as well looking to meet up with people and keep the momentum going from an early stage. Have moved to Singapore with work based around Raffles Place / City Hall so looking to do a lot of exploring initially around this area then hopefully beyond who knows to the Jurong Bird Park!

I'd also like to meet new friends here in Singapore. Would love to meet both of you.lindsayvine wrote:Hello everyone!

I'm 29, female professional.
I've been here since last month and it's starting to get boring doing things by myself and haven't met new friends.
I'm not sure if I can give you tips on renting since I'm fairly new to being independent but you can try visiting www...com.sg, that's where I'm looking at room rentals.
Anyway, hope I can meet both of you someday and have fun staying in Singapore

Nice intro, Lindsay.
Hope you succeed in Singapore!
I am 28/M single Indian male and would like to meet simple and genuinely good people with a good sense of humour.
PM me, if you want to encompass me in your social circle.
Btw, I am thinking of a quick getaway during Aug-26 weekend and would like to get a travel partner.

hello
Hi Lindsay and Nat
My boyfriend and I are recently arrived (as of two weeks) from the UK. I worked in casting for TV and film in the UK and was an actress before that and am hoping to teach theatre here while my partner has a 'proper' job.
I think our views on going out and exploring the region sound very similar. Not sure when you arrive but do get in touch. So new to this not even sure it's sensible to put my email address on but I assume I'll get pinged if you reply.
All the best
Laura
