looking for the right job in marketing and sales

Post by magicbaconmachine » Wed, 13 Jul 2011 3:48 pm

Hey people of the Internet :)

I'm arriving in Singapore in a few weeks after getting an MBA in Japan. I have an EPEC pass, and I already have some interviews lined up. However, the best jobs always come from networking, networking, and more networking!

Know any good jobs for a young energetic and crazy guy who loves to travel and meet new people? (all tips welcome)
I'm interested in marketing/sales type jobs and I have experience as media producer and trainer.

If you work in these fields can you give me some tips on how you got your dream jobs?

Best of luck to all the job seekers!

In marketing? Some. My MBA concentration was in marketing.
Also I was hired as an intern to develop new programming for a TV network using marketing research and my production background. I also have some marketing research experience. And I also have telesales experience as a trainer.

Without real-world, on the job experience it's going to be difficult, see the numerous posts on this forum from new grads getting their passes rejected.

Pass already approved. Also, as mentioned, I have real world experience working in studios and in training.

An EPEC is not a work pass, it's just a certificate that says you have the qualifications required. Your prospective employer would also need to prove to MOM that they need to hire you over a local, and that's the tricky past at the moment. There have been numerous posts here from people who have EPECs getting rejected when companies have applied for EPs for them.

How much experience (number of years) do you have? You've been quite vague on this point

Ah, I see what you mean. Thanks.
Actually, in marketing I have my MBA, my internship at the TV network (3 months), and the part time job I during my studies as a marketing researcher. I also worked 5 years in training and sales.

I'm willing to start where I have to start. Internships are also a possibility. Mostly I'm interested in media related jobs, but I am open to wherever I can get my foot in the door.

Thanks for the feedback by the way.
