EP for DP holder

Post by intellectualsmuse » Tue, 12 Jul 2011 8:47 pm

Couple of questions:

1. When a company applies for EP for a DP holder, am assuming the DP needs to be cancelled first-any details of how this works? As in the EP needs to be approved first and then the DP stands cancelled automatically?

2. Once the company applies for EP and until such time an outcome is obtained for the same, is it okay for the DP holder to travel overseas within this period? What happens if at the time of EP approval ( resulting in cancellation of DP) the person is overseas? Will they have a problem entering SG on their way back?

Any inputs on the above would be appreciated. Thanks :-)

As long as you have the AIP for the EP you don't have to worry as long as you have your passport with you. Additionally, you don't have to cancel the DP, it will be canceled automatically when the EP is issued.

Thanks SMS for all the help you extend on the forum :) My EP was approved today. After hearing from you on the above, I made the trip back home and now celebrating with family ;-)
