Maid vacation to home. questions

Postby intime0 » Mon, 11 Jul 2011 9:50 am

Curious what others do.

We are having a vacation in October. Intially our maid asked if she could go home and we said yes, for two weeks and we'd buy the plane ticket.

Now she wants the whole month off, which I'm fine with. But would you pay her for the whole month? We are only taking a week for vacation.

Also, she said they told her at the agency that it would cost an extra 280 through them to get the paperwork she needed to be able to go. That seems odd, but what do I know. Anyone sent a maid on home leave and have to pay a fee?

Did you ask the agency yourself?

The agency won't return our calls or emails unless they think one or both of us owe them money. They actually tried to get our maid to pay their fees TWICE.

Hoping someone had some experience with this.

If I remember well there are a few papers that a DH needs to make sure her entrance and exit of the philippines will go smoothly

OWAS is one of them.

But if the worker can process those papers by herself directly at the embassy it's gonna be much less expensive than through the agent who charges you for processing it for you.

Can't help more as I've never done the procedure here in Singapore...
