And all the sudden somebody next topic started to look for a lawyer for an assault case.

And if somebody deliberately drives down an expressway, going the wrong way and runs into cars going the proper direction and rate of speed and in their lanes? Who is assaulting whom?

An assault requires by definition a concious acting (has to be intended). In both JR8's and your samsonite case you were probably the only concious persons at the scene

Now now now...this is not right.
In Singapore, folks here don't consider assualt as an hobby..even if you are a drunk.
I must say WIMH was dead-on when he/she predicted thread here does degenerate and in this case it began as a benign this[is-a-great-place-to-be to let's-do-the-physical-assault-campign.
I must repeat again: This is NOT right, even if you have the might (6ft+ and weights like a pig) or carrying a samsonite.

No....and pray-tell why should locals subject/accept to this form of "humour".

However, given my 100+ kg frame, at 6' tall, physics tell me that I won't be on the losing end in a collision.
Now, it's not funny because I had to explain it.

I feel sorry for you.
Are you satisfied with your 100_kg/6ft frame and having a tough time being nimble?

Why share? You won't know any more than you did before. That's the trouble here. 33 years of courtesy campaigns and they still don't have a clue. Why should you be any different?

Serious mode now: I am surprisingly nimble and agile for my size, hence my earlier comment about evasive maneuvers. I can match the agility of people half my mass. Unlike my just-recent posts, these are not exaggerations.

Looks at those fantastic body-mass figures, I think some are more in need a dietitian or a workout instructor than a lawyer!

That's both enlightening and reassuring, but I found very interesting what you have pasted here right to the specific context of this discussion....so you think actually the locals gave them a reason to be assaulted?

I think it has gotten worse as I've been here. I line up behind the yellow line and then (inevitably) some one just stands right in the center as the door open. I usually look around and there are one or two questioning glances but NO ONE says anything--nor do I. Usually they are Chinese (Chinese Chinese, not SG Chinese) and I can't deal with the looks. Has it gotten worse in the past 5 years, yes I think so. Although I used to be around NUS, now moving more toward SGH--maybe different populations?

I concur with PNGMK with the exception that you may well find your own re-entry permits rejected on renewal because they will see what you are doing....

All are fine, but Icon and Sail for instance have no balconies.
Sail and 1 Shenton aren't the closest to grocery shopping unless you want to overpay...
