Tanglin View and various Jervois condos - advice please

Post by July11 » Wed, 06 Jul 2011 1:41 pm

We're moving to Singapore this month from Australia and will be staying in a Serviced Apartment until our gear arrives (beginning of Sept probably).

We have been to see an apartment in the Tanglin View condo on a previous trip and are keen on the area (and the condo, if we see the right apartment).

We will be paying for our own accomodation and our budget is c. 5,500 pm and we're looking for a three + one (with a maids room rather than a Home Shelter if possible).

Questions:
Can anyone recommend any other condos in that price range in the surrounding area? Are any of the Jervois condos worth viewing? Don't want to be too far away from the MRT though.
Does anyone (who posts here) live at Tanglin View and what have their experiences been?
We're keen to send our kids to one of the kindergartens in the area (Pats School house etc), can anyone recommend one?

There are tons of nice condos in the Jervois rd area, you'd have to search for something to meet your requirements.

With regards the MRT...Tanglin view is about 1km from Redhill MRT...now thats isnt such a long way in a temperate climate, but in the Singapore heat I couldn't walk that in my work attire without arriving at work looking like a drowned rat! YMMV...

Hi July11

Tanglin View is indeed a nice location, near to Redhill MRT, about 8-10mins walk away (~600m). With your budget, you can also check out 3 bedroom units near Tiong Bahru MRT. For e.g. Central Green and Alessandrea apartments. Tiong Bahru Plaza is above the MRT and that is where you can get your groceries and food easily. You should check out these areas if u have the time. I stay just one station away from Tiong Bahru, near Outram MRT :) n I luv the area near city.

btw, Pat's schoolhouse is a well known kindergarten but the wait list may be long .. so its good to do some checks with the schools before u settle in.
