You can sponsor your wifey OZ PR under family ties too.
MS,
Why are u suggesting him for OZ citizenship and also Singapore PR. If he takes OZ citizenship and then applies for PR here then it is not good as only if he wants to settle down here then only he should take PR?

for that he can work here on EP and take PR after few years? why does he need a OZ citizenship and then a PR? just for good looking on resume..not good...then it is like abusing OZ citizenship for a stepping stone to SG?

just my thought.... others may feel different...

people use singapore passports to move on to other countries all the time.

i don't approve of it but i don't see why that would be a big problem for others who knowingly exploit such "loopholes"...

Thanks again. Will still like to get bro SOS take on this.
You must be kidding right ? Unless you are living in the East, South or South East side of Melbourne like Colingwood , Lilydale, Wollongong or Sydney Habour or even Penrith yeah, you got it made and a good life. Try going to the other side of town and you know what I mean.
For your PR you will be looking at least 6 months to 2 years reply from ICA.

You have not answered my ques what pass are you on ?

The RRV has change quite abit for OZ PR

OZ allows dual citizenship and you can renounce OZ and regain it back for the purpose of migration. It is not illegal. As long as ATO and Immigration Department approves it , you are good to go.
Once he has received his OZ Citizenship and apply for SG PR, he will be applying under OZ not Pakistan which is under Level 1 Assessment. It will be harder for him as a Pakis compare to Ozzie to get approval for SG PR using the former country of origin
PR in SG has 5 years REP same as OZ PR but it is less stringent in OZ. Moreover OZ citizenship sponsor for spouse under family sponsor is easier though it has a 5 year permit.
Therefore he settles down in SG as a PR, he has got it covered on both ends.

I had met with an acquantaince in Saudi, He was from Yemen and a professor by profession. He applied for Madinah At Taiba University role but failed on 5 occassion. He went to Oz and soon after got his OZ citizenship within 2 years. Then on, he reapplied for the same role in that Uni. He got in on the first interview as he is coming from Ozzzzzzzieeeeee ? Capisce ?

How am I doing so far shaahs84 ?

Yes MD your recommendations definitely make sense. Thanks for your time and guidance.

I have been living in Surry Hills Sydney all my time in AUS. I have many asian friends there who also have never experienced any racial discrimination before. Heard about some racist acts there lately but none of that happened to me or any of my friends. I guess i was lucky. Or maybe another reason i can imagine is that all my time there i was self employed and was on a position to bully people than get bullied myself. LoL

Anyway thank you all for the advise. Specially Mad Scientist. I will wait for the outcome first and then decide to move back or stay here.

As they say if its meant to be its meant to be.

Cheers all.

Assuming you've applied under the technical persons scheme and not through your wife then let's be honest here - you've got 2 chances, slim and none. One of the requirements for applying for PR is to show your last 3 years tax returns, so how will you be able to do that if you've been here 6 months?
Do you mean if i applied under the spouse sponsor category i could have had a better chance?

You really haven't done much research at all have you? First you applied after being here 6 months despite the requirements saying you need 3 years tax returns, and now this. Sorry but I'm not here to wipe your arse, why don't you try reading up a bit yourself, there's this amazing new thing called google which you should try

I did my bit of research and also consulted a firm called "JANUS". They said if i apply on my own credentials i will stand a better chance. They did not suggest me to go for the spouse sponsorship. As you raised the point i wanted to get your take on that.

Thanks for the help anyway.

personal and friendly advise to you. If you can wait for 1-1.5 years and then try then surely you would have a good chance. Since you would have proved working in SG on an EP for 2 years and also spouse of a Singapore Citizen.

Janus is, I believe ,the host for guidemesingapore website. They are lawyers dealing with migration. Same goes to . and the like
ICA application is very easy to do and it is a waste of money to throw it to these lawyers as they basically just filling up forms for you for alot of YOUR money. Unlike Oz where a lawyer or migration consultant who belongs or inducted to the Immigration Service Board which basically pre vet your application and can throw more weight on your application, in SG , it will do the reverse as it will cause more harm than good
The application for PR under family ties stands equal or better chance than applying alone on your own. To add on to this is your educational background etc
I answer you in the open the ques you PM me for others to share

Thanks Mad Scientist

Didn't they tell you that one of the requirements here (http://www.ica.gov.sg/data/resources/do ... ormEP4.pdf) is 3 years of income tax returns? That took me 10 seconds to find, one wonders what Janus were doing if they didn't even highlight this to you

You married a Singaporean - you didn't say when but I assume not too long before Jan '11, then you moved to Singapore in Jan '11 and immediately applied for PR?
In the eyes of ICA (and most everybody else, I believe), this looks like a marriage of convenience to get Singapore PR. You need to present a very solid case to prove it is not.
By getting and abandoning an Ozzie PR after a short while, you have also shown that you don't appreciate that the "P" stands for "Permanent". ICA does not like such people!
But you can continue staying and working here on EP.
