Music
I was looking for room rentals and landed on this site, and on this forum. Might as well join in.
I've been here three months (I'm from PH, pretty close neighbour) and haven't really explored the music scene yet. Planning to attend Death Cab for Cutie and Toe next month (I missed Laneway T__T). I don't have friends here who are into this kind so might go solo (or if anyone is willing to tag me along as well...).
By the way, does this forum have topics on films? A film enthusiast too. Help, anyone?
Thanks!

I heard, bummer eh! Apparently Grohl is under doctor's orders to rest his voice.
At least the Foos are switched on enough to offer immediate refunds. George Michael cancelled the last 14 nights of his UK/EU tour 3 months ago and you still can't get refunds. There must be 100-200k people sitting on their tickets... not a good way to endear yourself to your fans!!

I've heard some of their stuff - and quite liked what I've heard.
Yes, gutted about the Foos cancelling - although it was chucking down last Friday when the gig was supposed to be on, it might have ended up being a bit of a mudbath.
I have to admit I was a bit suspicious when I heard they'd cancelled because I've had tickets for other bands here who've cancelled and it turned out that it was for poor ticket sales so I did wonder if that was behind it at first. Then I checked and they'd cancelled other concerts in Asia so it must be true about Dave's voice.
The next band I've got tickets for are Elbow on the 18th. They're OK, Elbow, I prefer something a bit more rock really but my daughter likes them so I'm taking her as a treat.
Then the next band I see after that will probably be in the UK when we move back - there are lots of things I'll miss about Singapore but one thing the UK will be great for is going to concerts

WTF was that!?

p.s. My initial impression was 'faux hippy-dippy and sounds like the New Seekers or something', then 'this track has been mixed to be too long (3:58) and nothing is happening', then 'er, still nothing happening and the lyrics are a repeat of two lines...'
Yes. And If you like them you should probably like Dreadzone

and Amos Tobin.
First one is simply lost on me...
second link..... nice
p.s. funny how little the main themes of reggae-dub have changed over the 30 odd years I've been familiar with it... it's a bit like having Yes or
Supertramp (or the Eagles doing a special outing for SMS ) and that is still THE mainstream. Maybe it's like Jonny Halliday in France. They've
only ever had one pop-star, and ok yeah he might now be 80 (oh, apart from the heiress plastique presidents wife lol).... and so he is the
permanent feature. Maybe they'll embalm rather than induct him into a Hall of Fame in Paris...
