Agree with the L42 comments but not fretless (we had this conversation before), he only played that on one song IIRC, a quite nice one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9VulT6l1P0

Thanks for that, for some reason I automatically associate 'Level 42' with that fretless sound. Lovely song, AND recording, BTW.

Yes Juliana's could be fun :-D All the office-ladies would turn up and change into their rubber 'O-back' dresses and dance on the podiums. Cue much respectful and humorous admiration from the audience..... very very fun times :) [as I have said before, this is how I belatedly got into dance/house etc.... as back in Europe if you went to a club playing that stuff, it would have been drugs, fighting, too much gold, and all that goes with it...]

Funny, just looking for a vid that represents the podium/O-back scene back then, and I came upon this. Curiously it's something I last found and watched maybe 5 years ago and had forgotten about. But perhaps it perfectly sums it up, 'Office ladies' who beyond home and work, go and dress up and become stars for a night :-D

Here guesting, but inadvertently (IMO) totally dominating. Awesome! The faces of the core band also say to me they know they're suddenly in some special moment not solely of their own making.

'Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name '

This used to be banned in SG [when issued, c.mid-90s], but I think it's ok now. On which note, does SG publish a specific list of music which it has banned?

Status Quo - Rockin' All Over The World (Live At Knebworth)
----

A summer concert from my youth (1986). Queen and Status Quo.... wonderful day, plus a dozen others.
I think my sis went the year earlier, and one previous to that, and saw Led Zep, or Deep Purple etc... grrrr :) This was 20-30 miles from my childhood home....

p.s. If you're a Brit, of 'that age' yeah, Status Quo ABSOLUTELY ruled over that 200k crowd, it was brilliant, happy, wonderful!

.... and how about that. Crossing my radar today for no particular reason is Eelco Gelling + Jan Akkerman playing together. Perhaps the two historical pillars of the Dutch rock scene. That's Eelco, who was Golden Earring....
