Customs process at airport for EP holders

Post by Venomrush » Fri, 24 Jun 2011 5:38 pm

Hi all,

I have two questions regarding the custom process at the airport for EP holder like myself.

1. Do we need to fill out a landing card?
2. Can we use the 'Singapore Passports' line?

Cheers!

1. No need. The officer will just scan your EP card. The back of your EP card is already a visit pass by itself.

2. No. But I have seen, in rare occassions, officers from those counters calling foreigners holding WP/SPass/EP over from 'All Passports' queue when they are empty.

What about the first time you are entering singapore when your EP has been approved. I mean, the IPA letter. I guess we will still need to fill out the "white" card?

Yep, you will be relieved of the white disembarkation card when your actual EP is issued.

Even better, you can use the automated Singapore lines as long as your EP is the new ploycarbonate kind where you registered your finger print with MOM, AND you have an ICAO-compliant passport AND you apply for eIACS (enhanced-Immigration Automated Clearance System)

Yoy can book an e-appointment on the ICA website or just turn up at the following locations:

Changi Airport
eIACS Enrolment Centre
Terminal 3 Arrival Immigration Hall
Level 1 (For passengers within the transit area only) Operating hours: Weekdays from 8.00am to 5.00pm
Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays

Woodlands Checkpoint
eIACS Enrolment Centre
Departure Bus Hall, level 5 Operating hours:
Weekdays from 8.00am to 5.00pm
Saturday from 8.00am to 1.00pm
Closed on Sundays and public holidays

Tuas Checkpoint
eIACS Enrolment Centre
Departure Bus Hall, level 1 Operating hours:
Weekdays from 8.00am to 5.00pm
Saturday from 8.00am to 1.00pm
Closed on Sundays and public holidays

strange i never applied for this eIACS (enhanced-Immigration Automated Clearance System)

I just tried my new passport and it worked, though my fingerprints are recorded.

I could have sworn that I've never seen one of those. :) Doesn't it read "Singapore Residents"?
