Hi there. I am a 25/f/Aussie who has just moved here and loves to go to the movies and eat out, not too fussy with what I eat and have loved most things I've tried here. I used to love the beach in oz but not so sure about the options here for that so have been mostly hanging out by the pool. If you are interested in meeting up please email me @ hevonne.h@gmail.com

Hey Verl

Thanks for the invite, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately didn't see your message in time and had the Melb Comedy Show followed by dinner/drinks/club for a friend's bday last night so wouldn't have been able to make it.

If there are any other events coming up that people wouldn't mind a new Aussie joining with, I would like to hear about them. I hope you had a great time and your friend finished his tour with a bang!

Yeah it was a good night, unfortunately not many people at the club were into the deep house sound, they were more about the top 40 rubbish being pumped in the adjoining room. We finished up at about 4.30 then headed to spize on river valley road for some late night dinner, stumbled home at 6.30... My gf Sarah is always looking for wine buddies, if you are interested I'll let her know.

Well it sounds like you still had a fun night! Anything that involves a meal after 3am has to be good. That would be great if you wouldn't mind passing my details on to your gf. I am a wine lover, though haven't found any great places other than a couple of French bars here that sell the good stuff without charging you an arm and a leg, so maybe she can show me the light. My email addy is hevonne.h@gmail.com. Thanks for that!

Haha so true and at least here there is so much more on offer than a late night kebab...though I have noted they are also available if we get home sick!..ah Sarah is on the look out for anywhere that serves decent wine at a reasonable price, i sent her your email she should get in touch soon...she's the one with the job, I'm the one at home, hopefully not for too much longer though.

Vonski86 and Verl,

We are on the same page as far as wine searches. You might already know about this one but The Market @ Central has house pours for $5.50, all day, every day. The owner is a real nice guy and you can sample each before committing.

If you come across any others, please pass along the info and I'll do the same. My girlfriend (also named Sarah) and I are always on on the look out.

If any of you ever have some chill plans and don't mind one or two tag-a-longs, please let me know. Always on the look out for some more friends with similar interests.

Take it easy.

Hi Guys,

Have you tried wine connection on robertson quay? I haven't been myself but I have heard that the prices are pretty reasonable and they do nice nibbles as well.

Becks :)

Wine Connection's ok and I'd recommend it, though I haven't been to either branch in a long while. They had some charge for wines under a certain amount on Fridays and Saturdays but I don't know if that's still the case. Anyway, pretty wide selection for good prices (by Singapore standards, of course). Good times to be had.

Yeah wine connection is amazing, and the surplus charge is $10 per bottle on Fridays to Sunday's. They have some beautiful French wines. Being an Aussie I am partial to an Australian wine and they do have them but they area little pricey. We have had a few of the rose's and a Sauvignon semillon from France that were amazing and in the low $20's. They also have a wonderful selection of cheese and the portions are decent when you select your own.

Melisa, you wrote practically the same text 19 times. Please be more directed in posting and what you did almost looks like spamming.

Would you rather read the same post in multiple threads?

If an internal designer designed every room in my house the exact same way then yes I would get annoyed. However, this is the Internet, ankd I spend 2 minutes a day here every other day, so I really don't care at all.
