Could anyone recommend a supplier?

Post by Ling2 » Mon, 20 Jun 2011 7:51 pm

Hi all,

This is urgent! I need a supplier that holds stock for seamless SS316 pipe fittings!

I need a seamless SS316 12" x 8" x 12" SCH 10 unequal Tee immediately!

If there's no stock, and indent is needed, please let me know the time frame.

Thanks!
Ling2

Welcome back ling2! Been quite a while! 4 or 5 years! Wind in My Hair will be surprised as well!

JR8, I told her to post it this afternoon after spending quite a while trying to find a supplier. The closest I could find was in Indonesia, but I know there are stockists here, but just can't find one at the moment. I though maybe some of our Engineering types who are working in the refineries, or pharmaceutical industries might have a handle on a supplier locally.

It's a long shot, but what the heck. If the locals in the PS threads can as for recommends for a Nose & eyelid butchers, she can ask for recommendations for SS316 pipe fittings suppliers . ;-)

Initially I thought it was going to be spam but the profile reeked of having 'credit' here, hence my light teasing re: most people won't have the foggiest what the OP is trying to find.

I do wish them luck though!

Thanks SMS, it's been 5 years. Well, I hope WIMH will come say hello too :)

JR8, are you serious about being able to supply?

I need two units urgently! I will pay 6k for each unit. That's more than 1k above market rate.

I know the major stockist in Singapore, but someone took them before I got to it. I needed it badly for one of my conversion project.

Appreciate the help!

Thanks
Ling2

Ling2, are you looking for SCH 10 or SCH 80? You post says 10 but your PM to me said 80.....

My Kiwi friend is flying in from Jkt this afternoon (just took up a 3 year posting over there just 2 weeks ago. He just finished up 5 years here out on Jurong Island and as he's a planning/scheduling engineer, I'll sound him out to see if he's got anything in his notes.

Sorry SMS, my PM was a wrong info, after looking up my material list, it's SCH 10 not 80. It's a long list of material list, thus I would be surprised if my eyes are not crossed by now

Truly appreciate your help!

Oh JR8, there's some of expat that I know in Singapore that works in the Oil & gas industry, thus I thought there might be a handful plus footful of them coming out of their consultant/contract position and start a business of some sort to cater to special needs of client? like crisis managment could be one of them?

Maybe I should try FB too. I exhausted all my local contact already. :-|

Hi Ling2... sorry to say I was just tugging your tail yesterday. Apologies, I should have just butted out from the thread.

These things (what ever they are!), are they custom made, or can you go direct to the manufacturer rather than local distributor?

They are stock fittings but being SS316 they are for specialized applications especially in those diameters, not something with a daily/weekly/monthly turnover. But more like on a single contract so would be ordered in advance (not cheap so wouldn't keep more than they could reasonably expect to sell in a short span of time). Her problem is one of time constraints.

JR8, no worries :) Thanks for the thoughts!

SMS, you are right! This project was initally management by the owner themselves, but they screwed up, and now we have to step in to help. This conversion should have set sail in Mid May. So everything I wanted must be delivered yesterday.

If you guys can't find the SS 316 fittings for me, can you help me find the one with halo and a wand in hand? :-|

Oh ok, but isn't problem solving the same in any language?

One of the more useful skills I ever learned from a physics teacher. He never really talked about physics, just how to break down a problem and improvise a solution...

Thanks guy, we probably have to use welded fittings but need to run NDT on them before using them. I am still waiting on fairy godmother.

Hi SE, long time no see. Didn't know you are an IT /crisis mgmt specialist. I had an IT crisis a few months back. Should have come back earlier to seek advise :D

I have recently installed FortiGate 50B, and lot of staff went on medical leaves after the installation. They tried to bypass the firewall thru proxy but we have blocked all the proxies now. Now, they use their phone to connect to FB! What to do?

JR8, agreed, but you need the right pool of people, with the wide network to manage crisis. I guess people with crisis like acne & nose job will not go to SE or me either :D
