Acting career in Singapore. Where do I start?

Post by GoHard_or_GoHome » Sat, 18 Jun 2011 1:07 am

Hi, I'm seriously considering to relocate to Singapore to pursue my dreams. I'm of Chinese descent, born and raised in Europe and do not speak Chinese.

Obviously, I have to build a portfolio and I am planning to do that. I just graduated and instead of working, I want to give acting a try.

I have no idea where to start.

*How can I find auditions for commercials/ extras/ supporting roles in sitcomes
*Are there any website of talent agencies where I can register?
*Reputable acting courses
*Visa restrictions? I'm I able to do work?

With kind regards,

Without the ability to speak Mandarin, you chances in an acting career in Singapore or Asia in general are severely curtailed. I wouldn't give it much of a chance when you consider that 85% of the population are Mandarin Speakers here.......
