Tennis Equipment

Post by Another Yankee » Fri, 17 Jun 2011 12:16 pm

Hi,

I am going to be moving to SG in August and love to play tennis. I don't know what the quality of the tennis stores are in SG. So, should I get my racquet re-strung, pre-purchase tennis shoes, etc. before I go or can you get everything in SG. And if you can, are the prices more expensive than in US? Also, I understand there is a VAT in SG. Is that for every purchase or is it just over a certain dollar amount?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Just get everything in the US, it's going to be so much simpler. There are no 'tennis stores' in SG, just generic and rather poorly stocked general sports shops.

There's GST in SG, and it is charged on everything...
