The best part of renewing at the moment is taking the application to Aunty at Cheers to have it sent to HK. Yes, Cheers is now the approved agent for IPS in Singapore.

Notice that the FCO had to introduce the new Consulate-issued Emergency Passport before "streamlining"the system...they expect so many delays in processing that the expat backlash would have been too much! Tantamount to admitting the process is longer and less efficient for the "customer".

Currently the process is amazingly, blisteringly fast... though this might depend on where your current (soon to be former) passport processing/issuing centre is located.

The one in Germany is just super fast, to the point where you are 100% convinced that the return package came so soon because you botched up the application. :D

You might also save a few bob if you can wait a few weeks and pay in Euro's!!
