Wanted: UOB, OCBC or DBS Bank Account Holder...

Post by SageSeeker » Tue, 14 Jun 2011 11:17 pm

I'm an Ex-pat looking to open a bank account in Singapore. If you have an account with a reputable bank in Singapore maybe we can help each other out.

I need a letter of introduction...

...To save you time I'll be happy to write the letter for you. You just read and sign it. In return I'll gladly pay you for your time.

If you can help me out please PM me, or contact me anyway this forum will let you. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have so we both feel completely cool about everything.

I appreciate anyone who can help me here.

Thanks

You do not need a letter of introduction to open a bank account in SG.

As long as you have a valid EP, go to any local or internation banks located here and they will serve you. Citibank , Stan Chart, Maybank, DBS , UOB etc

I don't think he's an expat. I think he's here on a SVP and working on the sly so is looking for banking facilities but without residency requirements usually required by the banks. I might be wrong, but if he does have residency here, all he needs is the minimum deposit and his FIN/NRIC/Passport.

No... I'm an Ex-pat living in Indonesia... Bali specifically. And you and I both know banks in Indonesia, and the Indonesian currency do not have the best of reputation.

That is why I want my banking based out of Singapore. I do not have a work visa (don't need one). I do not live in Singapore. And that is why I have to jump through the extra hoops to open the account.

Any other questions?

Correct me if I am wrong . Sekarang anda bermastautin di mana ?
Kerakyatan apa ?
Sekiranya memerlukan saldo uang asing lantas ke Citibank, BCA atau Bank Asing di Bali aje. Saldo rekening and simpanan pasti ada uang asing. Engak perlu titip khusus ke rupiah . Pergolakan uang rupiah tergantung kepada risiko dunia luar
Ngerti ?

First of all nobody here is going to issue a letter of recommendation to somebody that they do not know personally. You have to be quite naive to think that you can achieve that by simply writing a post on an internet discussion forum.

Secondly, you don't need that to open up a bank account, as some banks don't require you to be a resident/working here. HSBC is one of them, though I'm sure there are (many) others.

Aster is right. When I first arrived here I opened personal OCBC accounts with just my passport before my EP was even applied for. All you need is the minimum deposit of ~500SGD.

Now, can you do me a favor and open up a company and bank account in Indonesia under your name and allow my lawyer power of attorney? I've been having problems getting that sorted.

Obviously I have to say I am just joking to avoid any friendly fire from misinterpretations.
