It was a quiet weekday morning and I was reading a book in a chair near the pool in Parc Vista condo. A guard told me sternly ,'put your legs off the chair (nearby)'. Very much like a command. I was surprised and asked him to repeat. He insisted. I don't really understand this. I was wearing shorts of decent length and there is no one around (except him)! Has anyone met such rude guard before?
I was embarrassed. Later I asked the management office about any stringent condo rules that had to do with such 'behavior'. They actually apologized for 'over-policing'. But still, I don't feel comfortable about this. The guard went into the management office minutes later and started shouting loudly in Hokkien.
Btw, I feel that there is a noticeable tinge of racism from his condescending way of talking. Not happy over it.
