Isn't there a term for this? Making an obscure point, and then later when the earlier poster encapsulates his/her point, claiming that that was what you had meant all along :) :P

p.s. I agree with Jezzy's comment re: British men hehe 8-)

Yo guys! Nice to meet you!

I will be making a trip to Singapore in 3 months and wants to know what's happening on the half of the globe. I stumbled upon this forum while searching. Didn't know one existed.

People got to loosen up a little over there. Don't get too uptight. When you wake up in the morning, smell the fresh air! I know Singapore is concrete all around so there's no flowers to smell. Just be thankful you are alive, have roof over your head and food in your pantry. Other things don't matter..... nice cars, branded goods and dining at high-end restaurants. Enjoy the company while on dates with a clean mind. Don't think about getting hitched! That comes naturally if the chemistry is right.

If someone calls you a bitch or a jerk, smile and say "I'm honored"....at least someones knows you!

Cheers!

Not exactly a newbie as i have been here for about 2 months now. I somehow feel people here in Singapore dont like to make eye contact or being greeted with a smile. Is it just me?
Well if u dont mind a stranger greeting u with smile or like making new friends drop me a note on urpick.vaibhav@gmail.com. M 31 here.
This is my 10th day in Singapore...I feel exactly the same way...the locals are kind of cold. Some expatriates colleagues who are here for more than one year said that maybe because the local are shy and don't know how to greet :o really?

Are you a male or female ?? :D

Well, not all, but a few foreigners, if you smile back jump on the locals and propose dates/multi level marketing/sales opportunity for some health product/drink party invite/invitation to opposite sex back to their house for a 'chit chat' ... pretty intimidating for some ....

No, above was in jest, but, a stroll around Raffles place, with a few of my local colleagues, shows often why the locals are a bit allergic to stranger foreigners smiling .. among other reason ... :D :D but, once they know you ... if they don't smile, that means you have done something terrible ..

Well, once you been here for a while, and IF YOU TAKE THE EFFORT TO MAKE FRIENDS, People will smile .. atleast for the past 10 plus years, I am trying to remember if anybody has frowned at my smile ..

And I can't remember .. anybody .. but before, I used to think the locals are cold ..
