It means they were gunning for Mexican but the food still tastes undoubtedly Southeast Asian, and they gave up trying to make it taste authentic...just guessing (but I reckon your question for rhetorical).Calmday wrote: I mean WTF is "Mexican fusion"?
And ditto for me as another customer if you get it right.

Hi All,
Sorry to dig up this ancient thread.
Does anybody know where to get nice burrito wraps in Singapore?
We tried the Missions burrito wraps but weren't impressed.
Thank you.

Burritos in Singapore
Unfortunately there are no very good burritos in Singapore, at least if you've eaten one in the US.
Re: Burritos in Singapore
That's exactly why I am making my own burritos at home, the stuffing is easy, but I would like to buy the burrito wrap.
So I am asking again: Does anybody know which shop/supermarket/food stall is selling nice burrito wraps (tortillas). I tried the "Mission" brand and don't like it. Any others out there?
Thank you.

Re: Burritos in Singapore
There used to be a small shop that was actually more like a cart in the mall that sold hispanic food. They had tortillas, salsas, various spices, etc. Kallang Leisure Park had one. I remember it vividly because it seemed so damn out of place.Rumpel wrote:That's exactly why I am making my own burritos at home, the stuffing is easy, but I would like to buy the burrito wrap.

edit: Creative Googling saved me. It is called "Belmonte Latin Foods", and apparently they're in Ridgewood condo now.

They even sell the press to make your own tortillas:

Thank you for your help!
Re: Burritos in Singapore
Hi,
I have been to Belmonte last weekend and they sell a lot of imported Mexican food stuff.
I stocked up on burritos wrappers, pickled sliced jalapeños, Chilpotle peppers in adobo sauce and Sriracha hot sauce.
The burritos are way better than the "Mission" brand.
They also sell tacos and empanadas in their store, but I didn't try them.
Thanks again for the tip zzmm9980
