Job for fresh UK International Management Science graduate?

Post by VincentFreeman » Fri, 03 Jun 2011 9:58 am

Hi people,

I am 31 years, from Germany, and a fresh UK graduate in International Management Science, interested in starting a career in Singapore. Any advice is welcome.
I am interested in working in the fields of the finance industry, marketing/sales, IT/telecommunication, education or tourism.

Edited by moderator - CV's should be posted in the classified section of the site and not in the forum

I just arrived in the country and would look forward to meet fellow expats who have found their job of interest here... or are looking themselves...

Although there are jobs available in the areas you mention, employment passes for foreigners are only given if the employer can prove the applicant's skills are needed and not available locally.
This will be very difficult for a fresh graduate. They could potentially use your previous work, but I can't see what special skills you have acquired there (direct marketing experience is not rare here).
Most employers won't go through this and therefore prefer locals (see the many ads saying "Only Singaporeans and PR need apply").

Another thing: A German "Diplom", despite the similar word, is not a diploma (=polytechnic certificate), but a university degree. If you have this, don't use the German word or call it diploma, to avoid confusion!
