While staying at the Coptorne Orchid Hotel in Singapore 4 times in 1995-1996, I once asked a hotel staff member for recommendations suitable for a true meat loving man who thinks veggies are only trimmings.
He told my driver who drove us way over near the bird park somewhere (I'm thinking it was on a numbered street however, like 6th st. or something) to a wonderful Portuguese (sp) restaurant where we were all seated, enjoyed a great salad bar, then were served skewer and skewer of every variety of meat ever eaten until we put up the red flag, and asked for a tow truck to take us outside to our taxi.
It was my 2nd favorite restaurant in all of Singapore after Lawry's Prime Rib, and I carried the business card with me everytime I came to Singapore, but now I've left the card in Bangkok, and I'm in California, but want to advise friends living here and their relatives living full time in SG about the place.
Hoping someone will know the place I'm talking about and send me the restaurant name, the physical address and phone number.
Thanking y'all in advance,
Ken Bower
btw, even though I lived 39 years in Thailand, Singapore is my 2nd favorite city in the world.

Possibly the Brazilian Restaurant at Sixth Avenue near the intersection with Bukit Timah Road, see http://www.brazilchurrasco.com.
It fits your description, but is not anywhere near the bird park (and not Portuguese).
