depends what is important to you. Financially probably slightly better off in singapore, especially if you move to Sydney.

Let's say.. for argument sake.. I would like to lead a family oriented lifestyle on landed property with a car (maybe 2), would Sydney be more expensive than Sg in the long run (Other things being equal)

AFAIK, factor in the landed property.. Aust beats Sg in value for $$.

Cost of living in Sydney is cheaper than Singapore but the personal income tax in Australia is much higher than Singapore. If you want quality of life, I'll suggest Sydney.
