Hi,

My WP is expiring in this year July.

Employer is currently helping to apply S-pass but i am not sure if it will go through.

1) Do I need to exit SG for WP renewal, and how long before expiry should I renew WP?

2) Should employer be the one helping to renew my WP or I must do it myself?

3) Do I meet the min. requirement for S-pass?
- $1.8k monthly salary
- 1.5 Years of working exp.
- highest education: Diploma in early childhood

You need to have a valid VISA to stay in Singapore. You can go E-Xtend or to ICA to change your status to SVP if your WP expires. You should renew it a month prior

Actually, you cannot extend your svp that your are given upon cancellation of your WP. You have to leave the country for a minimum of 5 days and then return. This is unlike those on EP's. WP must leave the country.

If my employer renew the WP before it expire, I don't need to exit SG?

Also, you said my employer should start to renew 1 month prior its expiry. How long will the WP renewal application typically take?

I am currently waiting for my Spass application, if unsuccessful i would like to quickly renew my WP before it expires to prevent the hassle of exiting and reentering the country.
