Hi all,
I´ll arrive in Singapore on 28th May and will stay for a while. Would like to meet some other expats for a coffee, beer or drink.
Love international company.
The city is big and I have seen that there are millions of pubs and bars but let me ask if there are some location where especially expats meet.
In my job I´ll cover the SE Asia region therefore I´d also like to chat a bit about experiences with other countries in the region.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
See you!
Snokie

Welcome to Singapore (in advance)
The Pasir Panjang Village area (South West SG) is a place where they have good food and a couple of pubs, where the Oil & Gas expats hang out, i like the pub called "Rachel's Place" 2 nd floor (watch out for the signboard)
But the No 1 place where the majority of expats hang out is Orchard Towers (2nd floor) But if this is your first time in Asia, you would most likely leave the towers within an hour.

Depends what kind of expat activity you are interested in...
I sometimes go to Rachel's Place (I live in that area). Yep, plenty of expats and a good, friendly vibe, but being a Caucasian female, I'm normally the odd one out in that bar! Let's just say both there and OT specialise in the kind of Asian flavour you pay for by the hour...! (It might be your thing, I don't know...?!)
But if you're looking for places where there aren't maids working the night shift
then Penny Black on Boat Quay is one... as well as most of the Irish pubs around town... (Funnily enough, there's one of those opposite OT).
Hope the above helps!

In order to make an omelette, you have to break a few eggs

Rachel's Place, does not have any independent contractors that are paid by the hour! It is like "Cheers" to me, where everyone knows your name.Joeyfishcat wrote:Depends what kind of expat activity you are interested in...

The one opposite Orchard Towers (OT) is called "Muddy Murphy's" (nice designed pub)
OT is a paid pick up joint, all 4 floors with different pubs, it is a nice place if you don't pick up anything and also nice if you do.

Re; Rachel's - In which case, I'm quite often there on a Friday night. You can't miss me, as I'll be the only white female propping up the bar!ev-disinfection wrote:Rachel's Place, does not have any independent contractors that are paid by the hour! See ya there (unless of course you've spotted me there before)!
Re; Muddy Murphy's - yeh 'tis indeed - I spent most of Christmas Day there. They do a good Christmas lunch
