Returning local

Post by hitmebabyonemoretime » Mon, 09 May 2011 1:34 am

Hi folks! :)

I'm returning local, have been away for a bit and will be back soon. Been out of touch and am glad to join this forum to help me catch up :) Perhaps a bit about myself...

Most of my life was spent in SG, did the whole song and dance thingie with the army, studied and worked. then 6 years ago, I decided to leave familiar shores to seek a brave new world - a couple of years in Berlin and then Zurich for a few more. I recently accepted a new job and am currently in Stuttgart for training before I head back to SG in August.

I enjoy cooking, drinking wine, cooking whilst drinking wine, hiking & learning languages. I speak german (allegedly), understand north germans better and tend to have a swiss accent. I also speak a smattering of french, russian and japanese, primarily to help me get by when traveling. I try to do a bit of volunteer work where possible and have volunteered at an asylum organisation (political, not mental) in Switzerland.

Things I'm good at include shooting myself in the foot, putting my foot in the mouth and shooting myself in the foot while its already in my mouth :P

Well, that's all for now, pleased to make your acquaintance :D

OMG that's the most hilarious intro I've heard and I thought I was the only one with foot in mouth disease. Glad to meet a kindred spirit.

AK  :P

PS It's so funny it deserves a few choice emoticons

diva_00,

Should be all okay now. The problem was yours. In your profile, you had ticked "no" to enable BB Code and Smilies. I have gone in and changed it to Yes for both, now you can use BB Code and your smilies work.

Hi HMBOMT, you have come back to Sing at the right time, now that Singaporeans are very much more affluent than when I came back from overseas 11years ago. Took me a while to pick up Singlish all over again and got accepted by people at work :) Impressed that you know so many languages, welcome back!

I just got in today and i have to say it's great to be back! Food is great, there is a certain familiarity talking to people but the heat is gonna take some getting used to.

More importantly, i see beer prices have gone up! How can lidat!?

But yes, it's the prices of things that have went up, i am still adjusting to right now.
