Gold Thread Facelift - reviews?

Post by aneles » Thu, 05 May 2011 5:51 pm

Has anyone here done it? I'm interested to know how successful is the post effect & if it really achieves the uplift where you no longer need anymore fillers/botox afterwards.

& anyone knows if its relatively cheaper overseas? Locally one clinic charges $4500 for 6 threads (face & upper neck)

Threadlift

Post by tinkerbell88 » Sun, 22 May 2011 12:25 am

Gold threads for threadlift don't really have much holding power as it is only supposed to give a glow and a slightly younger appearance to the skin. The problem with that is that sometimes they can come out of the skin months later. My aunt had it done at some clinic in Singapore and there is really no change in her appearance after 6 months, apart for a glow. She still needed Botox and Fillers after all that. I am actually thinking of getting a threadlift myself, but after having consulted some aesthetic drs in Singapore and googling, the consensus is still the Silhouette threadlift, which holds and lifts better and lasts for 2-3 years. Think it's about $6000 for the face alone. I found another alternative which is non-surgical called Ultherapy, which is some ultrasound lift at a clinic in Lucky Plaza with reputable Drs. I think there are 2 drs there who do it, one male and the other a lady dr. I am going to have that done next week and will let you know how that goes. It is going to cost me around $4000? I think that's what the receptionist quoted me. Trying to avoid surgery as much as I can at present, but still going with the Botox and Fillers, which is within my comfort zone. :)

Hi tinkerbell88,

I heard about Ultherapy n have wanted to try it. However, i heard from my aesthetic doctor that some patients experience fairly persistent headache (or rather a patient of hers) after the procedure n it took her patient (who tried at other clinics) around a month or so for the headache to go off. Upon hearing that, i did not go for the procedure.

If you do go for the procedure, could you share with us does it really help in lifting the skin n do you experience any discomfort in any of your areas?

I heard the new Thermage works better n more comfortable n was tempted to try but there seems to be mixed reviews so decided to hold on first.

Cheers.

Ulthera

Post by tinkerbell88 » Sun, 22 May 2011 11:17 pm

Sure, will let you know how I get on. Ulthera is supposed to be better for asian skin as it is heavier and harder to lift than with Thermage. I tried the new thermage. Results are ok, but didn't seem to last that long for me. It felt wierd. Like vibrations going through my head, but no after effects. I heard that Ulthera does give some intermittent but temporary tingling after but fairly tolerable. So I think it's ok, and my friends who tried it loved it, so I can't wait! :D

Ultherapy

Post by tinkerbell88 » Thu, 26 May 2011 11:42 pm

I finally did it!!! Here's what happened. Upon arrival I had some numbing cream applied onto my face and a painkiller to take. After about 20 minutes I had it done in the treatment room, during which the nurse and Dr V explained the procedure again, and reassured me. The treatment started... I felt some warm tingling, some parts a little more than others. It was a strange warm and occasionally stinging sensation. But minutes later (I don't know how long- but when I looked at the clock again, it seemed 35 minutes? had ticked along...) it was over. My face was a little pink and felt tight, but i did look 2-3 years younger! Dr V explained that this was a normal reaction and the pinkness would fade in an hour, and I would continue to feel like my skin was getting tighter for a few days, and it would peak in its effect in about 2-3 months. I was so pleased. I was given an anti-ageing serum to apply and asked to return in a week. Maybe some of the more ultra-sensitive types get the tingling or headache, but I didn't, although my eyebrow and my jaw feel a bit sensitive but not uncomfortable, seeing that I just did it yesterday. I like what I see today and I am quite positive about my results. I can't wait to see the new me in 3 months time! 8-)

ultherapy

It's a week now since my treatment and my face looks much tighter and the proportions seem more balanced. My lines are less already and eyebags are less too! Hmmm... I like this. Also I am trying out some skin-lifting creams, used Prevage by Elisabeth Arden but broke out in spots, Genifique by Lancome wasn't bad too, but subtle and temporary results.. ... trying something else now called Endocare tensage from the clinic which is enzyme-rich cream that is meant to lift and tighten. Has anyone got any good lifting creams or serums to recommend? What about Lierac anti-ageing lifting serum? :)

Hi,
sorry I dont check back regularly, did not realised you feedback to my query.

I went back to the clinic & the consultant showed me one of their nurses that had done the gold thread lift - before photo showed rather obvious smile crease (that bracket line beside mouth) & 3 days after gold thread, her bracket crease totally disappeared. I have not gone back to meet this nurse (its abt 1.5 yrs since she done her lift), I need to see how she looks now before I can be convinced.

I am still 50/50 about this procedure. The consultant recommended me to do it with Ultera, she swears I will be super pleased with the results - the package price is $7000, its very enticing but its alot of money to spend & I expect darn good results.

thing is that there are not enough photos.reviews/information about this procedure though its been ard for ages & very popular in europe.

I read someone posted on one of the forums that it will never be popular in USA because the doctors will not want to sell this procedure to customers as they cannot price this procedure too steep since it is a rather simple procedure, & risk losing all the other potential income they can earn from fillers, lasers etc...

I am not sure what is your age - but I am surprised that you still feel you need more anti aging creams after Ultera?

I expected Ultera to take care of your face & give you the 'lift' you need....

Back from my 2 week break in the deep south of USA. I was so surprised at how sun-damaged everyone there was. Used my sunblock religiously and took my oral sunblock tablets (Heliocare) too. Yes, I think Ulthera is working beautifully. I went back for my one month Ulthera review today and the changes in my jawline and cheeks were quite noticeable, when my old pictures were pulled up prior to the treatment.
I was advised that anti-ageing serums were necessary even after a procedure like Ulthera, Sure I got what I paid for, but I need to keep the results lasting even longer as ageing is inevitable. I guess it's like buying a car. Even after you've acquired your new Ferrari, you still need to give it a bit of a facelift and polish it from time to time to maintain its shine.

Hi 929,
Ulthera lifted my face to a younger, nicer level, and my face and skin seem tighter and more radiant. I guess it did give me a glow after all, and I am also using the clinic's Radiance serum to help maintain the effects of the Ulthera, so I guess it's a combination of everything!

How much is Ulthera? Is there any downtime?

Hi Tinkerbell,

Where did you get the endocream products? I used them in london and am running out. Rather than having to ship it, I'd rather find it locally.

Thanks!

Dear dkgvalon and Marzuki,
some clinics stock the endocreams. I get mine from Asia Healthpartners in Orchard Rod. Love it, it really moisturises and lifts! Think it's originally a Spanish product.
No, I didn't have any downtime and my face still looks lifted til today! I think I paid about $4000.
Worth every cent!

Thanks Tinkerbell! I used it while living over in europe and yes it is from spain. How much did you pay for it here? I find that a couple of my products are still cheaper by buying them in the UK and shipping it here!
