Hi,
My partner and I are coming to Singapore in July to for an intensive Mandarin course. The course lasts for 12 weeks and I don't think a homestay would be suitable (for two). What accommodation options do we have for that term?

Will you be here on a Student Visa or on a normal SVP (Tourist Visa)? It makes a lot of difference as to what is available. Renting a room in private accommodations is not allowed unless you have a residency visa of some sort. This could be a Student Visa, Holiday/Work Visa, Work Permit or one of the Various Employment Passes or Business Visas. Otherwise, about the only things available are
Serviced Apartments (around 4K/mo) or hotels from around 1500/mo for small hotel but you might be able to do for around $1000/mo for long term rental.

Thanks for your replies. Yes, we will be holding student passes. Does this allow us to rent private accommodation, even though it is a short term tenancy? Most tenancies in the UK are 6 months minimum term.
Hi Klein. Where can I look for hdb room? Is the hdb let only by the government/council or do you mean by sublet? It would be nice to rent with Mandarin speakers.
