Nope. They are not. The standard line is going to be: "businesses need to be more productive and make do with less foreign labor"

Surprising, as there is no election for 5 years, and people have very short memories. So, there is no need to do anything for effect, that hampers the economy temporarily, for another 4yrs 9 months.

Well, the fact that MM and SM resigned so quickly tells that they want to make amends rightaway and not take anymore chances. 5 years may seem a longtime. But effects of policy changes take time to bring results.

If this was a musical he'd be saying ...

I am the very model of a modern Major-General,
I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I know the kings of England, and I quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical;
I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical,
I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical,
About binomial theorem I'm teeming with a lot o' news,
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.

I'm very good at integral and differential calculus;
I know the scientific names of beings animalculous:
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I am the very model of a modern Major-General.

:lol:

Got EP approved!!!

Post by snowlai » Thu, 19 May 2011 10:04 pm

Hi,

My EP is pending nearly 1month. My boss called MOM and asked about pending. After 2 days, MOM sent mail to him regarding unreadable document. So, he applied new application with complete documents. After 5 days, I got approved.

Hey, ksl, why didn't you go to the requested interview at MOM? It was a very good dialog. (although the hour & 15 minutes ended up being half a day but interesting to say the least). Could have used you there as well. The Sr Asst Director told me he contacted you as well as myself. I would have though you would have gone, especially seeing how fond you are of insisting on seeing a works controller all the time.

Dear ausinsg -

I am not a musician, although i enjoy music a lot especially Jazz...
I guess you are good at song writing perhaps, below lyrics written by you...

How do you sing it, is it pop, soft ballad, R&B rap, country folks song ?
I would love to hear a demo recording done by you

My dear dear ausinsg ... Singapore got talent shows!

This MOM Singapore is a piece of obstacle ROCK ... blocking My access path, they put My EP status on hold / pending without further notice (submitted since 15th April 2011)

Ooops ... felt like Aron Ralston's 127 Hours trapped / fallen into this deep deserted canyon hole!

Unfortunately I am not musically inclined, but I do enjoy watching shows.

This is a famous song from a musical called "Pirates of Penzance". It is by Gilbert and Sullivan.

You can find the video on YouTube if you search for "Major-General The Pirates of Penzance (Subtitles) "

Did you hear anything back about your EP? I hope you received good news.

Cheers!
