So many friends online; No friends offline. :(

Guys...

I have a serious problem and I don't know what to do...
I feel very alone...

My Facebook got about 600+ friends

But in real life I feel so alone even though I am chatting online with so many people.

My birthday just passed not too long ago. Lots of well wishes on my wall; but nobody bothers to call me and wish me well...

Do you feel we become very superficial ah? Do for the sake of it or for convenience sake? I also admit I seldom call anyone to wish them Happy Birthday anymore.

Got many Facebook friends but all are like strangers.
Kinda of like ex-gf likedat... they know what's going on with you but don't talk to you...

Do you guys feel this way?

Sorry for WOT.
Just feeling depressed.

"We" - no
"You" - yes (based on your post)

The irony of complaining about having no life because of the internet - on an internet forum.

Get off your arse and go outside, and leave the PSP, IPhone and IPad behind too. Then try talking to a real person and see how you get on.

You`re like a fat person munching away on a chocolate complaining about not being able to lose weight.

there isn't much to do on this island either... haha

i am really curious to know though how many feel the way i do...

i mean on FB we can have many friends... and to other it may seem like our life is great and all...

but truth is a lot of us are alone inside...

the people who know you only KNOW you through FB.
their idea of "you" is who they see on FB... and never bother to try "knowing" you in person.

next you`re going to quote some BS about being born into this world alone....

dude, its hard to believe you even have friends on the internet.

I`d suggest you seek a more positive perspective on life - if its difficult to do on your own, seek professional help.

Although I figure you`re a local - which makes me then think perhaps I can understand why you`re depressed :D

Seriously, get out of the house.

If, however, you're a hot, single lady, I'd be willing to take you out to dinner or something. But I seriously doubt that is the case so just look for a meet up and join that.

EDIT: This seems greatly appropriate:

Now that you've realised you feel this way, why don't you do something about it? And since you're on the forum, why don't you go to the "Events, gatherings..." section and try and meet some people in the "real" world?

You should choose an activity that you would enjoy and join a group. Friendships don't just 'happen', they build over time through shared experience. So, go dirt biking, sail boarding, cooking, something that provides a challenge you can share with one another.

I support this suggestions. We get to know alot of friends through activities and classes.

Do you also try to talk to neighbours, familiar faces you see in the food centre, market, bus stop, etc. It also works this way, but going to hobby class or activities will have higher chance.
